O’ Christmas Tree

December 1, 2008 at 12:43 am (John & Nicole)

X-mas Tree 2008Well, Thanksgiving dinner was a hit! I can definitely say I ate for 2! That’s a good thing though because my Dr said I need to gain some weight…between Thanksgiving and X-mas around the corner I’m sure she’ll see some improvement next time I see her. Let’s hope anyways.

So this past weekend, even though it took us a couple days…Our X-mas Tree is done! Hooray!

Thanksgiving Table

November 20, 2008 at 3:18 am (John & Nicole)

Omg! One more week till Thanksgiving! Wow, the month of November has flew by…and it didn’t hit me until over the weekend when I realized I’ve made our dining room table into a Crafting Shop. So I had a mission this week…clear off the crafts and set the table. Speaking of crafts, I can’t wait to show all my crafty friends what I’ve been doing…I’ll post pictures up once I’ve completed all my projects. :) Anyways, so my mission has been completed and I set our Thanksgiving dinner table. Yay! Now, the fun part begins…prepping for Turkey Day!

Be Thankful

November 13, 2008 at 7:45 pm (John & Nicole)

The past few months has really been an emotional roller coaster for us, which I’m not going to go into detail-I’d be here all day! Let’s just say that there has been some events that have happened, some tragic, and some not so tragic, but one in particular has changed my life. Ok, let’s fast-forward a bit. Yesterday, they laid off some peeps at my work and that’s when I started thinking…omg! what if that was me that got laid off?? All these things started going through my head… Bills? New Baby? Then I started reflecting on all the things I’m thankful for, especially with Thanksgiving being around the corner (another one of my favorite holidays). I decided that I can’t look at all the things that have already happened to the past, I can only move forward and look at the things and people I have in my life at this very moment. I have been very blessed to have a wonderful job with awesome co-workers, family, friends, neighbors, and the best husband in the world – without them I wouldn’t be who I am today. Then there is a ton of other things to be thankful for, having a roof over my head, a car to drive, a bed to sleep in, clothes to wear…gosh, so many things to be thankful for I don’t even know where to stop. Anyways, you get my point. For those that are reading this post, take a moment and think about all the things you are thankful for…you’ll be surprised as to all the things you come up with.

Halloween Weekend

November 4, 2008 at 3:20 pm (John & Nicole)

John’s parents, Chuck and Carol came out from Columbus, Ohio and my parents, Fred and Cathy came out from Huntington Beach, California on Thursday, the day before Halloween. On Friday, Halloween night, we all camped out in the driveway and passed out candy. We had a blast! The next morning about 5am we get a knock at our door from our neighbor telling us we got egged. Not only did John’s car(new Civic) got egged, but my parents car got egged as well. Then we realized that the neighbor across the street got egged. So my dad, John, and Jason, our neighbor across the street, were all washing their cars at the crack of dawn. After they got the cars cleaned up John noticed that his brand new car had been damaged from the egg. The way they threw the egg it chipped the paint on his car. (Yesterday he took his car in to get an estimate- $600 to get it fix!!!!All from a dam EGG!!!). Anyways, that morning of the egging we went around the neighborhood to see if anyone else got egged and sure enough most of the cars that were parked in the street got egged. So we made some stops to let the other neighbors know so that they can wash their car asap before the sun starts baking the egg on the cars and then it peels the paint. Not good! Well, this is the 2nd round of egging in our neighborhood and come to find out this has also happened in other neighborhoods in the community. So this could be a group of teenagers or childish adults…who knows! So, the rest of the day us Girls went shopping and the Boys did some stuff around the house. Besides the egging, it was a great weekend, we had so much fun with the parents.

David’s Trip to Az

October 28, 2008 at 7:43 pm (John & Nicole)

Ok, so I’m a little behind…but better late then never! Last week we had Dave (John’s older bro) here from PA. Dave and I made sure not to tell John he was coming because he really wanted to surprise John for his b-day. So he came out and boy was John surprised! I’m so mad at myself I didn’t take pictures, its not that often the boys are together…GRR!!!! Oh well! I’m sure now that he has come out to beautiful Arizona, he’ll be back soon and with his wife(Denise) & kids(Kayla & Alex)! Anyways, while he was here, him and John put up a kitty door on our hallway closet door (It was more Dave than John- John was the assistant…Thanks Dave!). DC was pretty pissed at us for moving her litter box and she did not like the flapper at all (so we removed that part) but after about 2 days she got the hang of it. The boys went quading and John showed him how to play WOW- Sorry Denise!!!, we even took him to our favorite places to try when you first come to AZ…In & Out, Del Taco, Bravi & of course the delicious El Encanto!!! The week went by so fast but I’m so glad we all got to spend time together!

Ghosts, Goblins & Critters, Oh My!

October 7, 2008 at 2:08 am (John & Nicole)

One of our favorite holidays is Halloween. Last year we went all out so this year we had to do better then last. We decided to make as much stuff as we could without going out and buying a bunch of holiday decor. So we made human size spiders, bats and a scary dude. So this past weekend, it was all about decorating!!! Below are some pictures I took of the front yard. Can’t wait until the end of the month!

Busy Bees

November 21, 2007 at 5:17 am (John & Nicole)

I was looking back at the last time we posted anything and it was back in September. Boy does time fly by! Luckily Carol has been posting some stuff to keep everyone occupied. Anyways, things are going well at the Couch family household. I’ve been playing soccer twice a week, taking a pole dancing class one day a week and I got a side job making some extra $$. (just so you know it has nothing to do with pole dancing… ha ha). Now that the holidays are around the corner, they stopped having soccer games until the new year and I also had my last pole dancing class last week. So things will hopefully die down a bit, just enough for me to relax and enjoy my holiday shopping. I also just found out that I will need to get foot surgery. My surgery will happen on Dec. 14th. Good news is that I don’t have to take time off of work, I will be able to work from home until I can get back to driving. LuckyJohn…he has to put up with me until I go back to work. ha ha.

John is doing great too. We play on the same co-ed soccer team on Friday nights, he scored his first goal this past Friday!!! I was so proud of him!!! Working from home is treating him well, when he’s not working he’s playing WOW. (World of Warcraft) He’s addicted… THANKS to you CHRIS!!!!!!

Besides all of our activities and jobs, we do always make time to have a social life…We threw our 1st Engagement Party for our friends- we had a blast! We also took a road trip to San Diego for a birthday party. When we were there we had lunch at Coronado Island and we got to see where John use to live on the seal training base. That was pretty cool.

We have pictures to share. Enjoy!

Sept 22nd-24th we will be in Ohio visiting our family and friends. We are excited to see everyone, especially Nana and Papa, we haven’t seen them since we’ve moved to Az! But the only thing that we aren’t looking forward to is the nasty weather, hey! maybe we can bring them nice weather! :) Wishful thinking, I know!
